The Making of Modern Taiwan aims to find the answer to “How Taiwan became the Taiwan of today”. Taiwan has long faced issues such as declining birthrates, land fragmentation, and industrial pollution. From being one of the Four Asian Tigers to being sidelined in international politics, what has changed and shaped Taiwan? What problems did the governments of different eras face and what is the impact of their political strategies? What problems does Taiwan face now? By learning from our history, we may be able to better handle the tasks that lie in the future.
